Atherosclerosis' connected diseases are the leading cause of death in Europe, accounting for over two million deaths each year. ARTreat project is driven by the vision to create a patient-specific model of atherosclerotic plaque evolution that will be basis for a new screening test envisaged to be available in a few yerars from now. The vision of the project is supplemented by its ambition to provide cardiologists with tools that will be able to support them before, during and after a clinical intervention and also offer a virtual intervention training environment to both experience doctors and novices helping them to enhance their skills and hands-on experience.
